THE Bishop of Blackburn has featured in a YouTube video invitation welcoming guests to a major festival.
The Rt Rev Julian Henderson is promoting The Church of England’s free Summer Festival weekend which is expected to draw thousands of visitors to Lancashire.
People are coming from across the county to the festival and youngsters from church schools will play a prominent part in the event, with schools sending choirs, dancers and jazz band.
Schools participating include St Michael’s Church of England High School, Chorley, St Wilfrid’s Church of England Academy, Blackburn, All Saints Church of England Primary School, Clayton-le-Moors, St James Lower Darwen, St Leonards Church of England Primary School, Langho and St Paul’s, Oswaldtwistle. The music, worship and activities festival next weekend is to take place at Arnold King Edward and Queen Mary School in Lytham St Annes.
Saturday sees exhibitions as well as praise and worship.
Sunday features a service and pilgrim walk.
