LANCASHIRE Police have questioned the alleged victim of an assault that is believed to have involved former Manchester United manager David Moyes.

Joiner Josh Gillibrand, 23, was allegedly assaulted by Mr Moyes outside a The Emporium wine bar in Clitheroe on May 21.

The police are yet to talk to Mr Moyes, 51, about the incident.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “The police are continuing to investigate an allegation of common assault resulting from an incident in Clitheroe on May 21.

“All parties involved will be given an opportunity to provide formal accounts to the police.

“This process is likely to take a number of weeks.”

It is understood that former Everton FC boss Mr Moyes had been socialising in the bar with Blackburn Rovers managing director Derek Shaw who was on the board at Preston North End when the Scotsman was in charge at Deepdale.
