Blackburn Citizen: Blackburn club damaged by fire Blackburn club damaged by fire

A WORKING men’s club has been severely damaged in a fire which is thought to have been started deliberately.

Firefighters were called to Audley Range, Blackburn, around 9.30pm yesterday to put out the flames.

Acting crew manager Kirsty McCreesh said the blaze was ‘well developed’ when the teams arrived.

An aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn Fire Station was also called into action.

Acting crew manager McCreeth said: “There is evidence of people having got into the property, so we are looking at it possibly being a deliberate fire.”

The blaze is thought to have started on the first floor, which was severely damaged. There was also severe damage to the ground floor and basement caused by the water used to put the flames out.

Firefighters were at the scene until around 2am today and crews were due to go back this morning to make sure the building was safe.

Bloody hell, any chance you could name the club LT! Not been In that area for a long time, but Is It Queens Park WMC?
Hope they catch the buggers who set It alight and they can repair It with the Insurance, or we could end up with one more drinking club shut to go with all the other pubs and clubs that have gone In Blackburn. Dread to think what might replace It should It not reopen.

Thanks, didn't honestly know It had closed. Definitely stinks of arson and ulterior motives to me now. God help Blackburn, the town Is being raped and pillaged before our eyes, very sad.

Locals probably having difficulty acquiring the building, so totally deck it, job done.
No doubting what will become of it, and no doubt the scum that started the fire will be shielded from the police.
RIP Blackburn
