MUSCLE men went head-to-head in to be named the toughest.
Bosses at Mill Gym in Lower Darwen, launched the contest to raise cash for the East Lancashire Hospice.
Competitors battled it out over five events lifting logs, pulling yokes and flipping tyres.
The event in Darwen's Market Square, saw Jake Simpkin, from Blackpool, named the Under 85kg winner, James Clay from Wigan the Open Category winner and gym members Michael Collins and Glen Bailey win the Novice and Intermediate categories.
The gym's Hana Wallbank, said: “It was a fabulous day even though it was a lot of hard work and left us all with very sore muscles.
"We are hoping the day raised a lot of money for the hospice once we get all the sponsorship back in. It couldn’t have gone better with all our family and friends cheering us on.
"One of our member’s daughters showed up with a ‘My daddy is a strongman banner’ to show her support!"
