AN ex-smoker from Sabden has urged others to get help from the East Lancashire Quit Squad.

Roger Kendall, 66, had been a smoker since he was around 16-years-old and would regularly go through 40 cigarettes a day.

When he retired, Roger realised how much money he was spending on his habit and decided to see specialist staff at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust to get some help.

He said: “I visited the Quit Squad in August, 2013 by booking a one to one session. Initially I had some reservations as I had tried to stop smoking previously without success, however they were brilliant.”

“From the first session they were very supportive and I found it really useful having someone there for support. I would encourage anyone thinking of quitting to contact Quit Squad.”
