PUPILS at East Lancashire schools have been receiving advice on how to compete Oxbridge university applications.
Oxford student Oliver Baker spoke to pupils from Accrington Academy, Fearns College in Bacup, Unity College Burnley and The Hollins Technology College in Accrington.
As schools and colleges liaison officer for Lancashire at Oxford University, Mr Baker spoke at the Burnley College event to de-mystify the Oxbridge application process.
The Queens College graduate also talked to Burnley College AS Level students about the universities and their openness towards applicants from all areas of the country.
Students heard a complete ‘how-to’ of the application process, followed by a 15-minute question and answer session.
A spokeswoman for Burnley College said: “It was a very inspirational day.”
