SO far 53 out of the 123 new homes on the new Royals Estate in Blackburn have been completed, including three show houses.

Borough neighbourhoods boss Arshid Mahmood has revealed that 48 of them are occupied and two are available for sale.

The development by David Wilson Homes on the site of the former Blackburn Royal Infirmary started construction in August 2012.

In a report to colleagues on Blackburn with Darwen Council, Coun Mahmood said 32 properties were currently being built of which 14 had been pre-sold off plan.

He added that ‘the anticipated build completion date was July 2015’ for the homes priced between £100,000 and £140,000.
