A PENSIONER has been air lifted to hospital after losing control of his motor bike in Rishton this morning.

Paramedics were called to the scene in Wilpshire Road shortly before 10am after receiving reports of a man losing control of his bike and coming to rest in a field.

The man, who is believed to be in his early 70s, was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital via the North West Air Ambulance.

He is reported to have suffered injuries to his left femur, a carpal bone in his foot and to his neck.

A spokeswoman from the ambulance service said: “It appears that the man had lost control of his bike and had crashed into a nearby wall.

“Paramedics found him in the field behind the wall.”
