Blackburn footcare team awarded

THE work of a team of people in Blackburn who provide services to people over the age of 50 has been recognised at an awards ceremony.
The Podiatry Team won the Partnership Working Award for their work with Age UK Blackburn with Darwen to provide to those who would not otherwise qualify for NHS podiatry services.
More than 300 health professionals gathered to celebrate their achievements at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s annual Staff Awards ceremony.
Heather Tierney-Moore, chief executive at Lancashire Care said: “I know I’m not alone when I say I really look forward to the Staff Awards ceremony and celebrating some of the outstanding work that goes on throughout different areas of the county.
“It was great to see so many people attend to celebrate their achievements and the achievements of others.
“The staff and work that has been shortlisted this year was inspirationa.
“I hope that each and every member of staff who was nominated feels proud of their achievement.”
The Children and Families Health Teams won the Innovation Award for their work in the development of the School Health Needs Assessment and Action Planning Process.
Their work involves responding to the individual and public health needs of school age children in the borough.
The system was piloted in East Lancashire in 2011 and is now used by 25 teams in Central Lancashire in Blackburn with Darwen and Central Lancashire.
