Blackburn ‘burglary gang’ caught on CCTV

Blackburn Citizen: Police wish to speak to these men Police wish to speak to these men

POLICE believe these men could be part of a gang of burglars who broke into homes in Blackburn.

At least five properties are believed to have been targeted by the group of three, who are said to have been driving a grey BMW 1 Series on fake number plates.

CCTV images of the men officers believe could help them with their investigation have now been released.

As well as appealing to anybody who recognises the men in the pictures to come forward, Det Insp Eric Halford, from Blackburn CID, said he was also keen to speak to fast food restaurant workers who may have served the men.

He said: “Burglary is a serious crime and one that has a high impact on the victim, their family and community which is why we have dedicated resources in place to investigate these offences.

“These people will have been driving around in this car for several days and may still be doing so.

“Even criminals have to take a break or refuel and I am especially looking for any members of staff at petrol stations who may have seen the car or offenders filling up or maybe they have committed a drive off at your garage to contact us.

“Also, staff working at places like McDonalds or Burger King who may have served these people on the day of the crimes and recall it. If so please give us a call.” The burglars first struck in Winston Road, Lambeth Street and Lynwood Road on March 12.

In the first two, nothing was taken, but a Lacoste watch, valued at £200, £200 in cash and a man's silver Seiko 5 watch were taken from the home in Lynwood Road.

On March 14, the burglars were seen in Whalley New Road and a burglary was later reported the same day in Revidge Road.

Det Insp Halford said the men could also be linked to an offence in Tameside, in Greater Manchester.

The burglars were described as white with dark coloured hair.

They were between 17 and 24 and were wearing distinctive Khaki coloured pants and two toned hooded tops or body warmer. One of the men was in a dark tracksuit.

Det Insp Halford said: “If any knows these people, who we suspect are from the Blackburn or Manchester area, I would urge them to contact us.”

Anybody with information should call 101 quoting the log reference number EA1412936 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

Why is it, that when an Asian man starts passing dud £50 notes in a shop, many, many people come forwards to identify, name and shame him, yet here are 3 White people committing crimes and not a word, from anyone?
One could be forgiven for thinking that there is a conspiracy of silence within the White community, where they seek to protect their own. After all, the same accusation was made, when Asian men were grooming teenagers.

The last three pictures remind me of the arcades in Blackpool in the 70's, noughts and crosses make a picture of you and your bird. As far as ID is concerned it wouldn't stand up in The Simpsons, never mind as evidence.

Maybe they are from out of the area hence the wall of silence, though these are despicable crimes and people, I prefer them them to grooming, drugging and raping young vulnerable members of society..... B3ll end

Only IMO may be the Whites don't know the guilty people as we despise theft from any one of what ever colour, your assumption on grooming, come on it's rife in the Asian male community (unfortunately). Good on the Asian community for coming forward with the forged £50 notes scam.

Grooming is rife in the white community as well just watch the news, the high pro celebrities cases. Shame, when it comes to your own how well you people hide it under the mattresses. Criminals come from all types of back ground and races don't tarnish all the community. Weather they Blue Green or white.
