ACCRINGTON and Rossendale College’s sixth annual film festival has been hailed a success.

A wide range of activities and screenings were held for the sixth Pennine Film Festival last week, aimed at developing and inspiring young and new filmmakers.

And festival director Stephen Murphy said: "It was another fantastic year with some inspiring guests, entertaining films and lots of people attending the events.

“We are already starting to plan next year and are looking to build the festival to include even bigger and better things.” Budding filmmakers were given awards for the work submitted.

And titles included Best International Short Film, Best Student Film and The People’s Choice Award.

The guests included the director Iain Cash and producer Reece Lynch.
