APPRENTICES and employers from across Blackburn have been recognised for their commitment to training.
Training 2000, the largest group training association in England, held its Business Awards at King George’s Hall, Blackburn, to honour the achievements of learners aged between 17 and 25.
One of the winners was Aamar Haroon, 19, from Blackburn, who received the Level 1 Traineeship of the Year award. He said: “I decided to do a traineeship as a way to progress onto an apprenticeship and I’ve really enjoyed it. My tutors at Training 2000 have been very helpful and supportive, and I’m made up to win this award for all my hard work.”
Aamar was joined on stage by other winners, including Jordan Hatzar, 17, Level 1 Achiever of the Year, Henry Clark, 18, Advanced Achiever of the Year, and Alisha Mullin, 19, Intermediate Achiever of the Year.
Blackburn-based Partwell Group was also recognised as Employer of the Year. The firm, which provides a range of cutting solutions, including products for die making and cutting supplies, was applauded for its commitment to offering training opportunities and support to staff.
Training 2000 business manager Rowena Brough said: “The calibre of learners has been exceptionally high this year.”
