Any chance of a bit of joined up thinking at the DVLA?
Where a person is disqualified from driving and then registers a vehicle, the police are informed immediately?
Any person that is disqualified, should be made to sell their current vehicle, as it only adds to a temptation to drive.

Am saddened to see that VW has been destroyed, as it used to make me smile whenever I saw it. I hope that you can get it replaced, with an equally flowery display, for I shall miss it.

Let me enlighten you to what happened on Preston New Rd two weeks ago! Some idiot parked a tow truck on Preston New Rd very close to the junction, obviously due to this obstruction a vehicle edged forward from the junction which was hit by another idiot driving at a very high speed. Yes! Both parties were Asians.

The accident scene was cordoned off by the Police, at this point there was a prat driving a Peugeot who was drunk With his young son in the passenger seat tried to drive through the accident scene whist the paramedics were attending to the injured party.

Guess what? The Peugeot drivers wasn't a asian. Hope that wasn't you.

In answer to the last question - probably not. I see lots on mobile phones, one texting on her steering wheel doing 60 on a motoway! Last week a black Colne taxi passed me as I was about to cross a very dark side street with an offside headlight only lit and nothing on the nearside. Thinking it could have been a motorcycle (apart from engine noise) I could have stepped into oblivion. On passing, I saw the back nearside was also completely unlit. As he exited onto the main street, he came up behind a police van which pulled up at a shop and ignored the passing taxi. There are loads of cars with faulty lights waiting for a tragedy to happen. As I've said before, the police are far too REactive and not PROactive.

Cameras would probably Bring in much needed revenue as opposed to speed humps which cost much more in the long term due to damage claims.
