A SCHOOLGIRL made a splash when she raised money for the North West Air Ambulance.
Eleven-year-old Aimee Shearer took part in a one-mile sponsored swim at Padiham Leisure Centre on Sunday – with the aim of raising £300 for the charity.
Aimee received some VIP backing at the swim, with her grandparents – the mayor of Burnley, Coun Frank Cant, and the mayoress Gillian Cant, lending vocal support.
Aimee is the granddaughter of the town’s first citizen.
