YOUNG dancers are putting their best foot forward for Blackburn and Darwen’s annual celebration of amateur dance.
The performers have been taking part in Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Schools’ Celebration of Dance.
Starting last night, children from across the borough are taking to the stage for two evenings of dance performances.
From reception class pupils to GCSE students, audiences are being greeted with a carnival of colour, music and movement.
Local schools have developed their own ideas for their performances based on this year’s theme of ‘History’.
The festival, which is being held at King George’s Hall, is a two-day event, and the second performance will start at 7pm tonight.
Tickets cost £3.75 for adults, £3 for OAPs and children aged 13-16, £1.50 for two to 12-year-olds and £10 for a family of four.
