Blackburn Citizen: 11 arrested during East Lancashire derby clash 11 arrested during East Lancashire derby clash

POLICE arrested 11 people for ‘relatively minor offences’ at yesterday’s East Lancashire derby.

Burnley’s 4,500 travelling fans were taken to Ewood Park on buses from Turf Moor before the game in order to minimise the potential for trouble.

Lancashire Police praised both clubs after the match, saying it passed off without any major incident.

Silver Commander Superintendent Jon Puttock said: “I would like to thank the supporters for their behaviour and co-operation, especially around travel arrangements.

“We have always stressed that the vast majority of supporters of both teams are law-abiding citizens who are passionate about supporting their football team and who just wanted to attend the match to show that support and enjoy the day.

“The policing operation was put in place to make sure that people could enjoy the occasion and get to and from the ground safely.

“The small number of arrests shows that between ourselves and the two football clubs we have ensured that fans have been able to enjoy the game safely and I would like to thank both clubs for their support and close co-operation throughout the planning for this match.”

There was minor disruption to roads around Ewood Park due to the transport arrangements, while the game had to stop briefly early on after a chicken was released on to the pitch.

Lancashire Police said it was too early to disclose where or why the 11 suspects were arrested, or which club they supported.

Could the small number of arrests be down to certain contributing facts ?
1 a large number of Burnley fans are bailed on condition they do not attend matches and do not associate with certain friends ?, this down to the fact that the Burnley police deliberately allow away fans into town to cause trouble and get Burnley fans arrested ?
2 Burnley WON
3 BURNLEY WON
4 Burnley Won...
5 did I mention that Burnley WON..

When I actually understand what you wrote I see what utter drivel you're talking. Why would the cops create a load of work for themselves by engineering 11 arrests?

Conspiracy theories aren't your strong point I can tell.

So the club and the filth treat everyone like criminals and cattle and also over-charge then for the privilege.

A friend of mine who travelled on a coach from Burnley Football Ground was lucky not to be injured.
A brick was thrown which broke the coach window,, it was a wonder nobody was injured.
Do the police class this as normal, and should be expected if you visit Blackburn by coach?
Why do the police not mention this when asked by the LT if there was any crowd trouble?

I would have thought so, also seems to be a tit for tat thing does the old seat smashing.

Didn't a couple of Rovers bints get nicked for attempting to leave the Turf Moor with their seats?
