THE funeral of a fun-loving young Blackburn man who died in a snowboarding accident is due to be held on Monday.
Michael Handley, 20, was killed following a tragic accident on the slopes at French alpine sports resort Les Deux Alpes on February 20.
An experienced snowboarder, Michael hit his head after landing badly on a route that he had taken many times before.
A requiem mass will be held at St Albans Church at 10am prior to cremation at Pleasington.
A memorial fund has been set up in his name and so the family ask that anyone who wanted to send flowers make a donation to the fund which will be split between Peloton de Gendarmerie (Helicopter rescue) and Maison Familiale Hospitaliere.
