TAXI drivers have been advised to call police on the non-emergency number if they have concerns about fans looking to travel to and from Sunday’s match.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “To ensure safety for all fans there will be a greatly increased police presence.
If private hire vehicle drivers receive calls for minibuses or multiple taxis during the day, and have any concerns they are in some way related to the football match, please phone the police non-emergency number of 101.”
Chairman of Blackburn Hackney Carriage Association, Mohammed Younis, said: “They won’t let fans into Ewood Park if they aren’t on the coaches.
“But if a private hire driver wants to take the customer then it’s up to the driver.
“If any driver feels threatened, intimidated, or concerned, they should call the police.”
