BLACKBURN Rovers fans are hoping to strike it lucky after being offered the chance to win a unique piece of derby day memorabilia being raffled by one of the club’s stars.

David Dunn is selling the black boots he wore in last season’s home clash with Burnley when his injury-time strike secured a dramatic 1-1 draw.

Trailing a goal down with only seconds remaining on the clock, the star netted the late leveller and preserved Rovers’ long unbeaten record against the Clarets.

With this season’s return fixture fast approaching, the Rovers ace has now decided to put the prized possession up for grabs.

Raffle tickets cost £10, with all proceeds to be split between Dunny’s three chosen charities – HYPE of Blackburn, The John Bury Trust and Prostate Cancer UK.

He said: “With the Burnley game just around the corner, I thought this would be a timely opportunity to give something back to the fans.

“Hopefully we can raise as much money as possible for three worthy causes, two of which are local charities that support local people.

“The idea behind holding a raffle is that it gives all Rovers fans an equal chance of winning and hopefully the boots will go to a home that gets as much pleasure from owning them as I did from scoring that goal.”

The draw will be made at the Bournemouth match on March 12.

Raffle tickets are available from the Roverstore at Ewood Park, Oneroverstore in Blackburn town centre, online via www.onerovers.co.uk and from the ticket office on 0871 222 1444 until Tuesday, March 11.
