A MAN had to be rescued after slipping on a waterside track at Entwistle Reservoir.

The 64-year-old from Lower Darwen suffered suspected lower leg fractures in the fall on Monday.

Ambulance crews called for assistance from Bolton Mountain Rescue Team, just before 2pm.

Team leader Gary Rhodes said: “The injured man was put on to one of our specialist mountain rescue stretchers and transported to the waiting ambulance crew.

“This was the third accident so far this year involving walkers around the waterside tracks of Entwistle Reservoir, who have sustained lower leg and ankle injuries, needing our response.”
