A SECTION of motorway was closed and a rolling roadblock put in place after a missing teenager was found on the M65 sidings.

There was some traffic problems on the motorway near Junction Six at Rishton after the 19-year-old ‘high risk’ missing girl from the Accrington area was spotted at about 5pm.

Insp Phil Hutchinson from Blackburn police said: “The reason we closed the motorway was because it was a safety issue and we wanted to make sure we could get her safely.

“She was quickly picked up and has been taken to the hospital for checks.

“We thank the motorists in the area for their patience while this was ongoing.”
