AN animal rescue centre is appealing for people who could give a horse a home.
World Horse Welfare’s Penny Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre has 75 horses and has invited people from East Lancashire to an ‘Introduction to Rehoming’ event.
The Blackpool-based charity will highlight the benefits of rehoming one of the 17 horses and ponies available.
Centre manager Fran Williamson, said: “We desperately need to find homes for horses and ponies who have completed their rehabilitation with us. We cannot rescue any more unless we find homes for those already in our care.”
“Last year a record number of foals were born on the farm, hence the 12 yearlings needing new homes now.
“They need experienced homes with owners who can give them lots of time and attention to start their training.”
World Horse Welfare day is on Saturday, March 8 when visitors can meet the horses and ponies.
