Darron Burness, head of the AA’s flood rescue team, said: “Today has brought some temporary respite from the repeated body blows inflicted by the weather but, with the Met Office warning of a ‘multi-pronged attack’, drivers will need to be on their toes to avoid a sucker punch.”
A spokesman for Lancashire County Council said gritters were on standby.
The AA is encouraging drivers to use their car radio’s traffic announcement function to help minimise disruption to journeys as a ‘multi-pronged attack’ of rain, snow and wind is set to affect drivers.
