A PENSIONER has been taken to hospital after crashing his car into a fast food takeaway in Darwen this morning.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene outside Roosters in the A666 near Borough Road shortly after 11.22am.

The man, believed to be in his mid 70s has been taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.

The driver’s Mazda Tamura has been recovered by police after the front of the car smashed into the shop front.

No pedestrians were hurt in the incident and it’s believed that the driver was alone in the car.

I Hope the driver is OK, good job he wasn't travelling too quickly or it could have been far more serious, it sounded bad enough as it was

Hope the bloke is Ok but how could he crash into Roosters? He must either have been coming round the corner from the Circus or round the corner off Bury Street. At most he could have been doing 20 mph and there are parking spaces marked out on that side of Borough Road that he would had to cross.
