THREE areas of Blackburn and Darwen will have skips provided by the council for residents to dispose of bulky rubbish on Saturday.
The locations are:
The Barlow Institute, Edgworth from 9am to 10 am;
Meadowhead Close, Blackburn from 9am to 10 am; and
Scotland Bank Terrace, Blackburn from 10.45am to 11.45am.
It is part of a scheme begun last month to provide free skips around the borough on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
Council environment boss Jim Smith said “These events have been successful and I am pleased the borough can provide this service.
“Fly-tipping, littering and illegal dumping are a real concern and I am pleased we can tackle this irresponsible behaviour.
“The skips are staffed by council workers and when full will be taken away.”
