MUSLIM charitable organisation, Al-Imdaad Foundation UK, held its very own foodbank collection, gathering around 25 carrier bags full of non-perishable food to donate to Blackburn Foodbank.
The group, based in Audley Range, Blackburn, regularly raises money for foreign aid and projects abroad but members recently decided they wanted to work closer to home.
Coun Phil Riley, who acts as a trustee for the Blackburn Foodbank in Brunswick Street said: “It was a great pleasure for this wonderful organisation to decide to collect food for the foodbank in one of their more local campaigns.
“The big carrier bags full of food were gratefully received.
“Hopefully, it will be the start of a long and fruitful charitable relationship together.”
