SINGER-songwriter Reece Bibby is one of the first musicians to take part in auditions to find the brightest up-and-coming stars on the East Lancashire music scene.

More than 80 singers, performers and bands are taking part in a series of live auditions for the Lancashire Telegraph-backed Reidy’s Talent Contest 2014.

The auditions are being held on the in-store stage at Reidy’s Home of Music superstore of Fielden Street in Blackburn and will continue for the next fortnight from 6pm from Monday to Wednesday.

The hopefuls are all looking to secure a place in one of four live heats at Blakey’s in King George’s Hall which will be held over successive Thursdays starting on February 20.

There will then be a grand final in the Windsor Suite at King George’s on Thursday, March 27. The winning artist or band will receive a £1,000 voucher to spend at Reidy’s, the chance to record a single at the the state-of-the-art recording studios at Clitheroe Grand and have an accompanying video produced by Blackburn College.
