RESIDENTS and community leaders have hit out after a huge amount of rubbish was dumped in an alley in Little Harwood.

The reports of dumped rubbish on Elm Street came on New Year’s Day.

Jason Walker, who helps with many nearby community groups, said: “A concerned resident has reported a white tipper type van unloading its load on Wednesday this week.

“The rubbish consists of household waste and building material.

“It’s shocking that people can be so inconsiderate to people living in this heavily populated area.

“The matter has been reported to local council and the police.”

An Elm Street resident, who did not wish to be named, said: “It’s a real mess, terrible for the children to see.

“This area is quite tidy, with flower displays on the street and then someone comes along and just dumps all this. They should be ashamed of themselves.”
