EXPENSES claimed by Hyndburn Council’s leader for his trip to London to discuss extra funding has been revealed.
Coun Miles Parkinson travelled to meet parliamentary under secretary of state for communities and local government, Brandon Lewis MP.
Coun Parkinson claimed £112 for a day return rail ticket, and £15.75 for meals, figures released under the Freedom of Information Act revealed.
Mr Lewis later wrote to Coun Parkinson to say the council had not gone ‘further and faster’ with its savings plans and would not receive an element of extra funding.
