A WOMAN drove off without paying after filling her car and jerry cans in the back with diesel worth £136 from a Great Harwood petrol station.
Blackburn magistrates heard that, shortly after, Susan Jones carried out a similar theft at a Blackburn station.
Jones, 41, of Bridge Street, Rishton, pleaded guilty to two charges of making off without payment, driving without insurance and other than in accordance with a licence. She was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
David Hartley, prosecuting, said police discovered the car shortly after the second offence but the jerry cans were already empty.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Jones had significant financial problems at the time of the offences and had gone out with a man intending to raise some funds.
He said: “The diesel was sold on very quickly.”
