PEOPLE over the age of 60 who have not made a will are being given the opportunity to do so.

Age UK has joined forces with solicitors Darwen Law Chambers to offer a will-making session on Wednesday, January 15, at the firm’s office in Railway Road.

Older people will be able to see a qualified solicitor who will take instructions for their will and offer advice. The service costs £60 for a basic will.

Age UK chief executive Vicky Shepherd said: “If a person dies without having made a will, it can make things more difficult for their affairs to be sorted out and may mean their wishes are not carried out as they would have liked.

“We hope these events will provide an extra opportunity for older people who want or need to make a will.”

Appointments must be made as numbers are strictly limited.
