BLACKBURN with Darwen Borough Council has launched a new mobile phone app called ‘Your Call’.
Using the app, residents can now access council services and report problems.
The app is available free of charge from the Android Market, Blackberry App World and by searching for ‘Your Call’ on the Apple App store on a mobile device.
The reporting facilities allow residents to take photos and mark the location of any issues they wish to report from around the borough, if they have location services enabled on a smartphone.
If problems are reported on the app outside of the borough it will also automatically notify the relevant local authority.
The app can be used to report a number of issues including abandoned vehicles, anti-social behaviour, dog fouling, drain problems, fly tipping, missed bin collections and pot holes.
There are also a number of other features, including a news and events feed giving users up-to-date information about what is happening in the borough, and hotlinks to information such as jobs at the council, and refuse and recycling collection times.
