A TWO-CAR collision on the M65 saw two lanes closed after damage to a barrier on the central reservation.
Police, fire and ambulance crews all attended the scene of the crash, between junction five at Guide and junction six at Blackburn, at around 11am on Saturday.
The Highways Agency said one lane was closed on the westbound carriageway until 12.20pm to allow the emergency services to clear the area.
At 2.05pm, a lane on the eastbound carriageway was closed to allow for repair work to be carried out at the damaged barrier, causing some slow traffic.
It was re-opened at 4.15pm. Neither the Highways Agency nor the North West Ambulance Service could confirm if anyone was injured in the incident.
