Couple win £5000 wedding in Lancashire Telegraph competition

A COUPLE are set to have a dream wedding after winning a Lancashire Telgraph competition.

Marta Howarth from Rossendale has won a complete wedding package worth nearly £5,000.

Marta and her partner Richard, 39, have been together for 22 years and will now tie the knot with a stunning ceremony and reception at a lavish Cumbria hotel.

The 41-year-old is one of the lucky winners of our Bid Lo competition, a reverse auction competition, which works by giving the prize to the lowest unique bid.

By bidding the lowest amount, she has won a complete wedding package at The Wordsworth Hotel in Grasmere.

Their three daughters, Bianca, 20, Jodie, 16 and Alexa, three will be bridesmaids for the happy couple.

Marta, said she was shocked when she discovered she had won.

She said: “I just screamed and I had to call the lady back to make sure. We have always wanted a nice wedding but just could never afford it.

“It’s wonderful to have won such a lovely prize and everyone is thrilled.”

The prize worth £4,995 includes a private ceremony space, chair covers and sashes, an aisle runner, a two course wedding breakfast, table linen, candles, wine, tea and coffee, homemade table favours and a canapé selection.

To complete the scene are table candelabras and runners, and a complete floral package.

For welcoming guests and toasting the happy couple, the prize also includes sparkling wine for guests on reception and a sparkling wine toast.

Marta and Richard have also won a bridal suite for one night.
