Helen Flanagan: I'd love to do Playboy

Blackburn Citizen: Helen Flanagan: I'd love to do Playboy Helen Flanagan: I'd love to do Playboy

FORMER Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has said she would love to follow in the footsteps of her idol Marilyn Monroe and appear in Playboy magazine.

The model, who was a pupil at the private Westholme School, in Blackburn, also revealed that she hoped to start a family with footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair in an interview with a national newspaper.

The 23-year-old told The Sun: “I’d love to do Playboy.

“I mean, Marilyn Monroe did Playboy and she’s my idol.”

Helen, who appeared in I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here last year, posed in a bunny costume for a photo shoot for the tabloid.

Other famous Playboy models include Kate Moss, Pamela Anderson and Belinda Carlisle.

What a role model, I am afraid she is a talentless bimbo who just wants to be famous and have an easy life. She should try doing a days work for a change. Is it any wonder we see hoards of kids at auditions looking for a life on easy street. I hope her footballer boyfriend wakes up and dumps this attention seeking loser.

Why should she behave as a role model? Just because she was in a soap opera? You need to learn to live and let live. She is just another human being trying to live her life in the way that she sees fit.

I'm sure I once remember her chunnering on about how she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress just before she did I'm A Celeb. I guess she's realised no one cares or pays her any attention unless she's at least half naked.

But how else are people to know that I do not care if I do not tell them I do not care. I thought this was the British way to do things, I'm not writing to the Daily Mail so LT will have to do.

I had my photo in Playboy magazine (fully clothed!) when I was 'Bunny Deana' at the London Playboy Club over 40 years ago, and that truly was the golden age of Playboy and the iconic Bunnies. I mean, how else would a 21-year old former typist get to meet Hugh Hefner, fly first-class to America to visit the Playboy Mansion in Chicago, and be crowned 'Bunny of The Year' by George Lazenby (James Bond at that time.) If anyone is interested, I have a collection of original (and now historic!) photographs online at Bunny Deana Photo Album.

I remember this young lady opening a lady's Hairdressers in Langho, she traveled thirty miles at her own expence and came along with her mum, she did the photo shoot and posed with the guests and children, a lovely family and again she did not charge anything but asked the owner to make a small donation to Charity.
Yes she has to earn a living like everyone else but this side of her does not get much publicity (unfortunately).

Parents should guide their children to help them understand what qualities make a good role model and what qualities don't. That way we don't have to accuse 'celebs' of being bad role models when it was never their intention or duty to be good role models in the first place. If Helen Flanagan is anyone's role model, point the finger at the parents.
That aside, I wouldn't be proud of a daughter who behaved like that.
