HYNDBURN Council has asked residents to recycle this Christmas.
Cabinet member for environment services, Coun Paul Cox, hopes extra waste generated over the festive period - such as cards, wrapping paper, boxes, and empty bottles - will not just be thrown away.
He said: “Please recycle as much as you can over the festive season “Also to help you manage your extra waste, our waste and recycling teams will remove a further two sacks of non-recyclable waste on your first collection day of the New Year.”
The council also offered to recycle residents’ real trees.
