Winter appeal for Syria charity launched by Blackburn doctor

SYRIA Relief, a charity co-founded by an East Lancashire doctor, has launched a winter appeal.

More than three million Syrian refugees and six million people have been forced to flee their homes and the charity fears many of them will not survive the harsh winter ahead.

Dr Ayman Jundi, a consultant in emergency medicine, moved to Blackburn in 1987 but his parents and extended family remain in Syria.

and this is our problem because???? Sorry to be insensitive but I don't really care about Syria or any other foreign country as we have many problems closer to home. I thought we were in recession and with prices going up on everything and the tax that I pay, well the cost of living in general leaves me with next to nothing so why cant I spend my hard earned money on my own family or choose to give to charity in my own country. Its a shame over Syria and I hope eventually things get better but I am sick of people going on about helping other countries and how we MUST help when in fact many people like myself don't care, also this country already sends millions abroad so my jundi contact Cameron to get some of that cash he wastes sending abroad instead.
