A BLACKBURN schoolboy has designed an award-winning Christmas card.

Jack Dillon, who goes to Feniscowles Primary School, designed the winning entry after we launched our Lancashire Telegraph Design a Christmas Card contest.

Jack beat off the competition from numerous children across the area who entered between the ages of four and 11 years old.

His design of reindeer decorated with stars flying through the air saw our readers award him first place.

The six-year-old wins first prize of a £100 shopping voucher.

Though many cards were entered, only a select few were printed last month which invited readers to get involved.

Jack’s design was one of the many cards printed in a special supplement in the Telegraph from which readers voted for their favourite designs.

Readers voted both by text and phone to put Jack’s special reindeer design in the lead.

His Year 2 class teacher at Feniscowles Primary, Helen Morgan, said the whole school was proud of him. She said: “I originally mentioned the competition in infants assembly and Jack was very interested from the start and did all the work himself from home.

“When he won he was delighted and everyone congratulated him.

“It’s been a wonderful boost to him to realise that other people have enjoyed seeing his Christmas card design as much as he enjoyed making it.

“Jack has always been creative and is very artistic in class and everyone thinks he has done so well.”
