A SYMBOLIC scroll which was taken on a tour of East Lancashire’s maternity wards has been signed by 10,000 people.

The scroll, representing one of the oldest forms of communication, visited 50 units involved in midwifery, one of the oldest professions, including Burnley General Hospital.

The journey aimed to raise awareness of the Motorcycle Outreach charity.

The charity aims to introduce effective healthcare delivery in remote areas of developing countries, and the scroll collected signatures and donations for the cause as it travelled.
