Great Harwood banned driver spared jail

A MAN was told he had narrowly escaped an immediate custodial sentence after being convicted of four charges of driving while disqualified.
Imran Hussain Shah, 27, of Princess Street, Great Harwood, was convicted after trial of disqualified driving, four charges of driving without insurance and one charge of assaulting Babber Maqsood.
He was sentenced to a total of 26 weeks in custody suspended for two years, made subject to community supervision for two years, made subject to a curfew between 7pm and 7am for three months and banned from driving for 24 months.
He was also ordered to pay £50 compensation to the victim of the assault and £560 costs.
