A CAR crash outside a pub in Over Hulton left two drivers in hospital after traffic lights failed.
At the St Helen’s Road junction of the A6, just outside the Red Lion pub, a BMW estate and Ford Fiesta collided at about 8.30am on Sunday October 20.
A section of Salford Road was closed for about half an hour while paramedics treated the drivers for shock and whiplash.
The drivers, a man and a woman, both aged 25, were taken to hospital as a precaution, and police reopened the road after clearing both vehicles.
Firefighters who attended the scene found that the front of one car had smashed into the side of the other in the middle of the junction, after the cars had passed through traffic lights which were not working.
Neither car was carrying any passengers at the time of the accident.
