Albion are trying to borrow Dexter Blackstock from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest to give a further boost to their injury-hit strike force.
Leroy Lita made his debut on loan from Swansea as a second half substitute in today's 0-0 draw at Yeovil.
The Seagulls are trying to suuplement his arrival by landing Blackstock as well, The Argus can reveal.
Top scorer Leo Ulloa, Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins are all sidelined by long-term injuries.
Forest have a wealth of options up front and Blackstock, 27, is mulling over a move to The Amex. He has made only three appearances for the East Midlands outfit this season.
Blackstock has scored 84 goals in 311 appearances for Forest, QPR, Derby, Plymouth and Southampton.
