LORETO Preparatory School pupils Una Bardet and Saskia Beswick are pictured amidst their school's fabulous harvest collection.

This year the independent preparatory school in Altrincham donated its harvest produce to local residents, to the Cornerstone refuge on Denmark Road in Manchester and to Revive, a charity which supports refugees and asylum seekers.

Cornerstone day centre, which is run by the Salford Diocese, provides a wide range of essential services to adults facing desperate problems including homeless.

Loreto Preparatory School headteacher Helen Norwood said: “Cornerstone operates an open door policy, welcoming people from all backgrounds, offering practical and emotional support, improving prospects and enhancing the quality of life of its clients. Revive seeks to help those who cannot cope in a new country but are keen to integrate successfully. We are delighted to make this contribution to both these strong and dedicated teams.”

The school also made a collection for CAFOD.
