Teen dragged from taxi and robbed in Blackburn town centre
AN 18-year-old man was dragged out of a taxi and robbed in Blackburn town centre.
The teenager was attempting to get into a taxi in St Peter Street, not far from Blackburn Railway Station, when he was approached by two men in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The men dragged the youth out of the taxi, and forced him to hand over his belongings.
The robbers took his mobile phone, his wallet and a small amount of cash.
Police have arrested one man in connection with the incident, but are still seeking a second man.
Both offenders are described as white males.
The victim was not injured in the attack.
Officers have already spoken to the driver of the taxi that the man was attempting to get into, but they are keen to speak to anyone who saw the attack, and to anyone else who may have information about the crime which happened at 5am.
A police spokeman said there may have been witnesses to the incident because there is a busy nightclub nearby.
