East Lancashire charity appeals for help
12:40pm Friday 23rd August 2013 in News
RESIDENTS have been urged to do their spring clean early to help raise funds as part of a mammoth stock appeal.
The British Heart Foundation has asked for people to clear out their wardrobes in September during their great British bagathon which aims to collect one million bags of unwanted goods for charity.
They would like each household and workplace to take part in an online challenge and league table by setting a target number of bags of clothes and bric-a-brac to donate to their nearest shop in East Lancashire.
The sale of the goods will help generate essential funding for life-saving research into heart disease.
Ann Lomas, area manager for BHF shops, said: “We’d like everyone in the Lancashire area to set aside some time to clear out their wardrobe and join in.
“Your clothes, shoes, bags, books, DVDs, homewares and toys will help Lancashire BHF shops fight for every heart beat.”
