Accrington man hit his wife with a shoe
1:32pm Monday 19th August 2013 in News
A WOMAN who felt like a prisoner in her arranged marriage was hit over the head with a shoe by her husband.
Blackburn magistrates heard Baddar Munir went home and started shouting at his wife and calling her names.
As she went to leave the room she was struck on the head and felt blood coming from a wound.
Munir, 36, of Persia Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to assaulting Asia Bibi.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a mental health report.
Alex Mann, prosecuting, said there had been previous incidents and Mrs Bibi had been in a refuge previously. She said her husband had never used violence before but had been possessive and exercised control.
