Fund-raiser for vital pump for Oswaldtwistle boy Reece, 3
2:29pm Friday 16th August 2013 in News
SUPPORTERS of a three-year-old with a lifelong heart condition will raise funds this month.
Reece Scott, from Oswaldtwistle, became the youngest child in the county to receive a life-saving device and currently has one on loan from the Pumping Marvellous charity.
Reece will need to take the portable defibrillator with him to the town’s Early Start pre-school to help him stay alive.
He was born with a leaking heart valve and an underdeveloped heart but, after three operations, he is preparing to start pre-school with his twin brother Regan in September.
Family and friends are completing 20 and 50-mile sponsored bike rides on Saturday, August 24, to try to raise the £1,000 needed to buy his own defibrillator and training.
Anyone wishing to sponsor them or join in can call Sarah on 07729 499198.
