LANCASHIRE Women’s Network has reached 88,000 people through its cancer awareness project.
Fully-trained cancer awareness workers engaged with almost 90,000 people over the life of the project, it has been revealed.
The Know4Sure scheme raised awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer, and also encouraged people with any of the symptoms to go to their doctor.
Known4Sure is an NHS campaign, during which The Department of Health is piloting a more general cancer symptoms approach.
The scheme, which is supported by Cancer Research UK, uses volunteers in local communities across the UK to raise awareness of four key signs of cancer.
