OUT with old and in with the new was Thornbury pupils’ motto as they performed a pop-inspired adaptation of classic tale The Rainbow Fish.

Crossways Infant school year one children put a spin on the popular book under the lead of teacher cum scriptwriter and music director Amy Mason.

The young actors wove some top-charting tunes, including Bruno Mars’s Count on Me, into the traditional friendship story, to the delight of their audience.

They also gave a much-enjoyed rendition of Disney’s Under the Sea.

Head teacher Lisa Jones said: "Working together towards a production like this really boosts children’s social skills and confidence, we are very proud of them all."
