A man in his 70’s was flown to hospital with a head injury, following a two-car smash on a bend near Burnham.
A silver Ford Focus and a grey Volkswagen Polo were involved in a collision on a bend at the junction with Burnham Road and Maldon Road in between Burnham and Althorne on Wednesday afternoon.
Two fire crews, ambulance, Essex air ambulance and police from the marine unit based in Burnham attended the crash near Tinker’s Hole, which happened at around 2.30pm.
Another driver, believed to be in his 20’s, was also injured in the crash and was taken to Broomfield Hospital.
Both men are believed to have serious injuries which are not life-threatening.
